Gander Outdoors is currently hiring an Installer for our newly-created service department within our retail store.

We are ideally looking for someone with good mechanical ability to install RV accessories on Recreational Vehicles. We also look for people who are passionate about fixing mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and maintenance problems. People in home repair, construction, or building maintenance or automotive repair are also a great fit.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Install After Market RV Accessories
  • Perform routine RV Maintenance
  • Keep track of parts and materials used in installing or maintaining RV
  • Keep Supervisor appraised of work progress
  • Ensure that the final work product meets quality standards and is inspected by supervisor or designee.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and coworkers.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Essential Job Skills:

  • Certification from college or technical school in trade field (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Maintenance, etc.) helpful but not required
  • 1 +year installation technician experience or related fields preferred
  • RVIA certification helpful but not required
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Prolonged periods of standing, stopping, crawling and bending
  • Must comply with Federal, State and Local standards and requirements
  • Furnish own hand/shop tools helpful but not required
  • May lift up to 25 lbs and/or move up to 50 lbs. with assistive devices
  • Exposure to heights and hazards related to working with electrical and welding equipment
  • Environmental conditions include heat, cold, humidity, noise, dust and wetness
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
