Shop Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise the assembly facility to ensure quality, error-free service to customers while meeting safety, operational and financial goals. Manager of day to day operations of the shop. Coordinates delivery dates internally and with third parties. Work regularly with Service and Warehouse functions in the facility.
MAIN TASKS:
Plans and coordinates the activities of assigned team to ensure that production commitments are met.
Maintain staff work schedule to cover normal hours of operation and on-call contingencies.
Communicates regularly with management concerning scheduling, delivery, capacity, inspection results, compliance, inventory availability, customer expectations and other shop issues/ concerns.
Acts as a technical resource providing guidance and expertise for team members in their daily technical work.
May occasionally be called upon to fill in or help handle excess workload.
Ensure accuracy by applying best practices and focusing on detail
Promptly reports any operational problems or safety issues with machinery, tools or equipment to Base Manager.
Provides daily inspection of shop tooling and equipment. Practice good housekeeping and monitors 5S in assigned areas.
Leads and facilitates the process of continuous improvement of the processes and methods to reduce inventory errors, improve quality, increase on time delivery, and minimize work in process and to eliminate duplication of effort.
Communicates business priorities and production requirements and ensures that team members understand and are committed to meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
Ensures that members are functioning as a unit and are integrated around the performance requirements of the team.
Trains, monitors and coaches team members to improve skill level, to ensure adherence to principles, policies and standards and to improve safety, quality and process reliability in a cost effective manner. Facilitates communications, problem resolution and provides appropriate feedback, both positive and corrective within the team.
Coordinates activities within a team environment to ensure production and performance commitments are fulfilled. Train, monitor and coach team members to improve skill level, to ensure adherence to principles, policies and standards and to improve safety, quality and process reliability in a cost effective manner.
Responsible for inventory/data integrity, transaction accuracy, documentation accuracy and proper handling of materials and equipment.
Coordinates/monitors activities and workflow of material handlers for optimized mix and output requirements. Provides input to Manager on performance and other issues.
Audit work orders for correctness of part, quantity, quality, packaging, etc.
Recommends improvements to Assembly Procedures. May draft new procedures as assigned.
All other tasks as assigned by facility management.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license
Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
At least eight years (8) mechanical experience with at least two (2) years of leadership experience.
Ability to multi-tasks and efficient time management skills
Understands operational commitments and impact on related area
Coordinate commitment to Health, Safety and Environment
Support Base Manager in efficient operation of shop
Demonstrate good organizational, interpersonal and customer relation skills
Must be in compliance with all corporate requirements such as P-card, HSE, HR, etc.
Active involvement in the training and development of employees
Demonstrated ability to comprehend engineering and weld drawings and written Engineering procedures.
Must have mastered all key sub-assemblies.
Demonstrated ability to use personal computer or workstation.
Must demonstrate ability to set-up testing equipment such as relief valves, pre-charge accumulators, etc.
Demonstrated ability to suggest design improvements.
Demonstrated ability to use hand tools, power tools and other equipment in the shop.
Completed SST ? Surface Advanced Service Skills Training
DBI (Data Base Information) procedures.
Local Operating Procedures.
START Safety Program.
FMC Material Handling Equipment Certification.
Assists in more advanced functions as part of training.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Shop environment. High noise level. Works with high-pressure equipment and chemicals. Inclement weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing upward, crawling in confined workspace, walking and lifting (up to 50 lbs.) daily.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
